Dulson Training acquire more driver training equipment

Dulson Training Ltd are pleased to announce the acquisition of equipment from a HGV and Trailer Driver Training provider in Mid Wales who offered Cat B+E trailer towing and Cat C Class 2 LGV licence acquisition courses in the surrounding area. Delivering professional training across mid Wales with test preparation and vocational tests in Shrewsbury and other large towns.

This new acquisition to Dulson Training Ltd will see us grow further offering courses in rural Mid Wales. We have already increased our fleet with 5 new pieces of equipment ordered and arriving in March. We have increased our instructor numbers to cover the area and additional volume of training courses. We have two new instructors starting in March who will both start the early stages of the LGV National Register of Instructors training process. This will be completed in-house at Dulson Training Ltd, we are a proudly approved National Register of Instructors Training and Exam centre.

Steve Dulson, Managing Director “I am really excited to include Mid Wales as one of our training course locations. With the addition of two new instructors starting the process of becoming qualified and new equipment ordered and arriving in March we are planning for the future to keep Dulson Training ltd as the name you can trust for all vehicle related driver training”

The acquisition of new equipment and courses compliments our existing sites in Shrewsbury, Telford and Wrexham. Our Shrewsbury and Telford sites boast excellent training facilities and have the luxury of being approved private DVSA customer test sites.

The benefits to our customers of operating our private customer test sites are invaluable. You are able to prepare for your driving test on local test routes and practice the reversing and coupling manoeuvres at our test site. The DVSA examiners visit our site throughout the week and weekend to conduct the driving tests. This is much better than learning on roads in an area that you will not be tested on and practicing in car parks or in lay-bys. With the public test site in Shrewsbury (Harlescott LGV) closing in March 2020 there will only be one site to take your HGV / LGV / PSV driving test in Shrewsbury and that is at Dulson Training Ltd. We opened this site almost 4 years ago when we where informed that Harlescott LGV public test site would be closing. We do not feel it is fair for our customers to learn to drive in Shrewsbury but then have to take their test in Wolverhampton or Wrexham. These are the closest public test sites. With Dulson Training Ltd you can learn and take your test in Shrewsbury. You can do the same at our Telford customer training test site which is the only site in the area to offer public DVSA testing for up to Cat C+E Class 1.

Some people have said that Harlescott LGV was closed without much notice, but the closure has been public for a few years, this is what prompted us to open our own site so that Shrewsbury learners could still take their test in Shrewsbury.

There is no public test site in Telford, we have our private training and test site that training can be booked at but beyond Telford, Shrewsbury learners would be left with a choice of Wolverhampton or Wrexham if we had not opened our private Shrewsbury HGV test site.

Wrexham still operates a public test site, our courses in Wrexham start, finish and operate around Wrexham from our Rhosddu Industrial Estate site and the tests are conducted at the public driving test site. The LGV / HGV test site in Wrexham is not planned to close. Our site offers full reversing facilities, secure parking, classrooms and is in a perfect location just a few miles from the public driving test site.

We deliver all categories of HGV/LGV/PSV, Car and Trailer, Driver CPC, ADR, 4x4, Fleet Training, Train the Trainer, First Aid, Yard Shunter and FLT operator training etc at our Shrewsbury, Telford and Wrexham sites. Currently the Mid Wales training will be moved over to Shrewsbury and Wrexham but there will be changes to this in the future.
