CPC Training Made Simple With Dulson Training
Driver CPC is a requirement for all professional lorry and bus drivers. We have designed and built our own training material that utilises the years of experience we have in both training, and in road or passenger transport.
We hold regular Periodic Training sessions both face to face in the classroom, or online using Zoom. These courses are all suitable for both professional lorry and bus drivers, and are delivered by experienced and motivated instructors with real world experience.
Although most courses are 7 hours and are non-practical based for up to 20 drivers per day, we do also have an in-cab driver development course, a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course, and our ADR courses that can count as Driver CPC hours.
The Driver CPC Training Courses We Provide Are
Yes, in almost every situation you will need a Driver CPC qualification to drive professionally. If you are driving for leisure or fall under one of the exemptions, you may not need it. Always assume that you do need it, and we can discuss your situation and offer guidance if you believe you do not need a Driver CPC.
A DQC is a Driver Qualification Card, this is what you will be issued when you gain your Driver CPC. It will have a 5 year expiry when issued. A new DQC will be issued if you have completed the 35 hours Periodic Training by the expiry date.
Usually yes, if you are going to be a professional lorry driver you will need a Driver CPC qualification. There are some exemptions including if you are becoming a paramedic or driving for leisure purposes only. We will discuss this with you and if you need a Driver CPC, arrange this for you.
Your Driver CPC qualification will be valid for 5 years, you will need to complete 35 hours Periodic Training to renew your qualification. Even if your qualification has expired you will be issued a new card once your 35 hours have been completed. You can only complete the Initial Qualification once, if you have a valid DQC or an expired DQC the only way to renew it is to complete the 35 hours Periodic Training.
We have lots of different courses available, you must not repeat the same course within each 5 year cycle. If you prefer a more practical approach to training we offer an in cab driver development course to assess and improve your driving. Our First Aid Driver CPC can be certificated as a Level 3 award, and our ADR courses can include up to 28 hours Driver CPC.
Most people pass the Initial Qualification and have a DQC issued at the same time that they passed their lorry or bus test. If you did not, you can still do it now. You can complete the Initial Qualification and have a new DQC card issued which will be valid for 5 years.
