Course Information
Our refresher training courses are designed to enhance and assess your skills and expertise behind the wheel of any size or type of vehicle.
You may have recently acquired your licence and wish to further improve your skills before going into the workplace, or you may be returning to the industry after an absence and want to refresh your skills. You may have recently purchased a caravan or motorhome and wish to make sure you have the necessary skills to hit the road.
This is a certificated course, with a written assessment report, and whilst it doesn’t provide a guarantee for employment, it can help to boost your experience and employability. Some companies may be able to use this to reduce insurance liabilities if drivers have attended this training. As a company you may want to send an employee to complete a refresher.
The course is bespoke and based on your individual requirements. It is usually run as a half day course with the training equipment supplied at our Shrewsbury, Telford, Ludlow or Wrexham site, or you can supply your own equipment. The course can be provided at your location nationwide, additional costs may apply.

Our refresher courses are designed to improve your skills and confidence in all vehicle types including:
- Cat B - Car, Panel Van or Motorhome up to 3500kg
- Cat BE - Trailer or Caravan Handling
- Cat C1 - Goods Vehicle or Motorhome between 3500kg and 7500kg with or without a trailer
- Cat D1 - Minibus with or without a trailer
- Cat C - LGV Class 2 Rigid
- Cat CE - HGV Class 1 Articulated
- Cat D - PCV Bus or Coach
- AFV - Alternatively Fuelled Vehicle, eg. Electric.
We can provide the vehicle or you can supply your own.
This type of training is also known as Fleet Training or Defensive Driving.
License Requirements
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Licence category must already be held for the type of vehicle you will be training for
Why should I train?
Anyone who is looking to refresh their skills/expertise in driving and who would like to drive with more confidence and safety, either in a work or recreational setting.
Some companies may be able to use this to reduce insurance liabilities if drivers have attended this training. You may be a company who has an employee that you feel would benefit from attending a refresher course.

It was easy to book the days that suited me over a two week period and to complete each one. Pat was extremely helpful at every stage and made the process simple and easy with great communication along the way.

Just like to add no driver looks forward to their cpc courses Neil & Rose made the course as painless as possible the time flew by, whilst it was done remotely with limitations on discussions we still managed to have some form of discussion between new drivers and the more seasoned drivers. I would just like to extend my thanks to Neil, Rose and Pat very friendly team very helpful and may possibly be back to add to my CPC hours in the future I will be recommending Dulson in the future.

From the initial phone call to pat about wanting to go for my cat c license right up to steve driving me back from the test site to rodenhurst and everything in between was just brilliant. Loved the cpc modules and steve is an asset to the company. The driving assessment was perfect and the fella that assessed me was brilliant. Everything was absolutely faultless from the moment I first called the office to the moment I left after passing my test. First impressions were very good as the office staff explained everything I needed to do with a provisional and theory tests etc. They sent a full information pack of forms out that i found very useful and made the whole process easy. This is something that stood out to me as other driver training businesses didn’t give me a good first impression. Even though I didn’t pass first time(my fault), Steve and his team worked very hard in finding me a test as soon as possible and at the right time for myself. They were great.
