Cat C1 / Cat C1+E
Course Information
Category C1 are medium size goods vehicles up to 7500kg / 7.5 Ton towing a trailer up to 750kg.
We supply modern training vehicles for the driver training courses in Shrewsbury, Telford, Ludlow, Wrexham or Wolverhampton.
If you wish to tow a trailer behind the Cat C1 that weighs over 750kg you will need to pass a Cat C1+E test.
If you already have a Cat C1+E licence with a '107' restriction (acquired rights) this will limit you to a maximum combination weight of 8250kg. To remove the '107' you will need to pass a C1+E driving test.
Medical - We will send you a Licence Acquisition Starter Pack with a simple guide and the DVLA forms allowing you to arrange a medical.
Provisional Licence - Once you have completed the medical you can apply to DVLA for a new driving licence with the additional provisional category added.
Theory Test - Prepare for your Mod 1a Multiple Choice, Mod 1b Hazard Perception and Driver CPC Mod 2 Case Studies theory tests using an online portal and once ready we will book these tests local to you.
Practical Course - We will arrange a driver training course which will include the Mod 3a Off Road Reversing test and Mod 3b On Road Driving test.
Driver CPC - We will arrange the Mod 4 Practical Demonstration training and test to coincide with your driver training course. You will only need to complete the Driver CPC Mod 2 and Mod 4 if you will be driving professionally.

Why should I train?
Cat C1 vehicles are commonly used for horse boxes, mid-size delivery vehicles and ambulances. We will help you to understand the licence requirements for driving these types of vehicles and guide you through the application, training, and qualification processes.
If you have a standard car licence you can jump straight on to the bigger Cat C Class 2. The Cat C is a very similar process to the C1 but will allow you to drive bigger vehicles.

Your driver training will be in the same location as your driving test. We have multiple course locations for you to choose from.
Our pass rates are very high and we have our own private test sites, allowing you to train and test at the same site.

It was easy to book the days that suited me over a two week period and to complete each one. Pat was extremely helpful at every stage and made the process simple and easy with great communication along the way.

Just like to add no driver looks forward to their cpc courses Neil & Rose made the course as painless as possible the time flew by, whilst it was done remotely with limitations on discussions we still managed to have some form of discussion between new drivers and the more seasoned drivers. From the initial phone call to pat about wanting to go for my cat c license right up to steve driving me back from the test site to rodenhurst and everything in between was just brilliant. Loved the cpc modules and steve is an asset to the company. The driving assessment was perfect and the fella that assessed me was brilliant. Everything was absolutely faultless from the moment I first called the office to the moment I left after passing my test. First impressions were very good as the office staff explained everything I needed to do with a provisional and theory tests etc. They sent a full information pack of forms out that i found very useful and made the whole process easy. This is something that stood out to me as other driver training businesses didn’t give me a good first impression. Even though I didn’t pass first time(my fault), Steve and his team worked very hard in finding me a test as soon as possible and at the right time for myself. They were great.
