Category BE. For towing large trailers and caravans
If you passed you Category B (Car) test since 1st January 1997 you will need to take a test to tow a large trailer or caravan. If you are towing illegally you can receive a fine, penalty points, have the trailer confiscated and void your insurance.
What do I need to do?
You must hold a Valid UK driving licence and be at least 17 years old for this course.
We can arrange an optional driving assessment. This allows you to get a feel for the vehicle you will be using, meet your instructor and visit our training site. We can consult on a suitable course for you and arrange some practical training dates.
Practical training is usually booked as an intensive course, but we can adapt to your diary and offer weekend, evening or day by day courses. We pre-book dozens of tests weekly so availability is never an issue.
The training is always based on 1:2:1 unless you request 2:2:1. Our training fleet is all modern and fitted with reversing cameras. You will practice your test manoeuvres at the same site that you take your test and all on road driver training is conducted on the same routes that you test on.
If you passed your test before 1997 and you already hold the licence you may want to improve your skills and confidence by arranging a Driver Development course. Following a consultation these courses can be tailored to your needs. They generally include coupling, general driving and reversing a trailer/caravan or you can complete a test standard style of course. We can supply the training equipment.
We can now offer this course in both Automatic and Manual options.
2017 Navara Manual
2017 Tiguan Manual
2017 Vito Automatic
Please remember our helpful staff will be there to manage each stage for you. We look forward to working with you.
